Borders and Boundaries

In thinking about boundaries, I explored the idea of finding private realms in public spaces. I was particularly interested in the private spheres of thought which form our perspective and response to the world. In this way, private spaces exist everywhere-- just as the mind exists within the body, or a person in a cafe. In documenting these moments, I sought to capture fragments of authenticity that allow the experience to enter the realms of personal territory. Inspired by the tensions between the light and shadows of these places, these photographs draw on the ebb and flow cycles of everyday life, underscoring the balance between moments of intimacy and solitude.
